STMicroelectronics and its STM32 Primer is one device that allows users to quickly turn a concept into an attractive-looking demonstrator in a flash. Sharing roughly the same dimensions as that of a cell phone, it will feature a 128 x 160-pixel color touchscreen display, a joystick/push button, an extension connector and pre-loaded sample applications. Apart from that, you will also find an integrated USB port, a microSD memory card slot, an accelerometer and an infrared transmitter/receiver, where the latter enables users to add numerous extra capabilities and functions where applications are concerned. All these will run on the open-source CircleOS, letting users present a high-quality prototype without the drudgery of a conventional engineering development board. After all, you never get a second chance at a first impression, right? The STM32 Primer is expected to retail for $49 each.
