Pioneer Has Last Hurrah With Four Kuro Models

Pioneer Has Last Hurrah With Four Kuro Models

Pioneer says its goodbye to the world of TVs today by presenting its final launch of four Kuro models in Japan. No idea on who would actually purchase these TVs if they know the company will already cease production of TVs due to the unprofitable venture though. Two of the models from the latest Kuro range, the KRP-500A and KRP-600A, come equipped with an external tuner. As for both of those alongside the all-in-one equivalents, the KRP-500M and KRP-600M, are able to churn out 1080p images at 50" and 60" inches respectively. There is no word on contrast ratios, but you will find a quartet of HDMI inputs, VGA, component and a USB port for connectivity options. Don't worry about your warranty though - Pioneer will continue to provide repairs on sets for up to 8 years, and keep your fingers crossed that there are enough replacement parts to go round till then.

Eee Keyboard PC Video

Earlier this month, we said that the Asus Eee Keyboard PC could come out in May. The photo we had back then was not the most descriptive one, so we thought that you would like to see this video (shot at Cebit). We found it on UMPCPortal (hi Steve), and according to them, this device will be compatible with Wireless HDMI - which kind of makes sense, as it would be a shame to connect this with a long cable.

Epoq EPP-HH07 Projector

Epoq EPP-HH07 Projector

Epoq has released a new projector in the form of the EPP-HH07 which is more or less similar to the Evolution R-1 from Beambox. The HH07 shares roughly the same dimensions as that of a cell phone, capable of throwing out VGA (640 x 480) resolution at 30 ANSI lumens and a 100:1 contrast ratio. It tips the scales at 0.4lbs and is equipped with an AV and headphone jack as well, in addition to an SD memory card slot and a mini USB port. You don't even need to be tethered to a power point since it comes with an internal battery for that added touch of portability. You can pick up the Epoq EPP-HH07 for $339.95.

External IR Keyboard Added To iPhone Without Jailbreaking

External IR Keyboard Added To iPhone Without Jailbreaking

Hackers have managed to make an external IR keyboard play nice with an iPhone without having the need to jailbreak the device in the first place - after all, having a keyboard will come in handy if you're one who have plenty of text messages and emails to reply wherever you go. This is made possible by using a custom connection constructed just for the headphone jack, since the latter is one of the few interfaces that is left open in the official SDK. The hackers behind this tweak built a microcontroller that converts input from an external Targus IR keyboard into a format where the iPhone's headphone jack understands.

TiPhone Yet Another iPhone Clone

TiPhone Yet Another iPhone Clone

They just don't stop coming - we're talking about iPhone clones, with the TiPhone being the latest in a long line, and we're sure that it isn't the last either. No idea on which operating system the TiPhone is powered by, but chances are it could be a rehash of the operating system that is used by the HiPhone and SciPhone of the past as well. Interestingly enough, it comes with a TV tuner where users are able to pull out from the top. No idea on why anyone would want to settle for a clone phone though.

e-Traction Develops Diesel Electric Hybrid Bus

e-Traction Develops Diesel Electric Hybrid Bus

Good thing there are never enough ways to turn green, with the latest among them a diesel-electric hybrid bus courtesy of e-Tractioon from Netherlands which is touted to come with 50% better fuel economy over the existing fleet of diesel buses. In addition, this vehicle will feature a GPS-base dsystem which helps switch off the diesel engine entirely when it is operating within areas that have insane traffic in order to further reduce emissions. So far, e-Traction has been awarded contracts to retrofit up to seven commercial buses with this technology, so we're keeping our fingers crossed that this will branch out to garbage trucks eventually.
