Curse of Silence Cured

Curse of Silence Cured

Nokia has managed to memorize a spell in time to break the Curse of Silence exploit that made headlines just last month, enabling an attacker to cripple the messaging capabilities on Nokia smartphones running on the S60 3rd Edition platform simply by sending a carefully crafted message. You won't have to chant mantras or follow what resembles a witch doctor's advice, but just have to download and install a free cleanup tool if you're part of the affected. Even if you're free from this Curse of Silence exploit, there is no hard done in installing it on your phone just in case - you know, better safe than sorry and all that jazz.

Lock For USB Flash Drives

Lock For USB Flash Drives

Talk about applying old technology to new - here we have a traditional lock that can be opened by getting the correct number combination, all meant to cover the USB connector on your flash drive. We wonder why can't the USB flash drive manufacturer just include software-based encryption or for greater security, throw in a fingerprint recognition sensor? We suppose this is great for kick starting a conversation at the water cooler, but apart from that it will look plain silly whenever you whip out your USB flash drive.

Cigarette Lighter Holds Camera Within

Cigarette Lighter Holds Camera Within

It is kind of ironic that both Lady Liberty and the bald eagle symbols of American freedom, and yet being plastered over this camera cigarette lighter for covert use implies that you're trying to curtail the freedom of others by spying on them. We suppose when it is applied to enemies of the state that's fine, but somehow, it just feel plain wrong. Ajoka doesn't realy care though, as its latest product is able to shoot video in VGA quality at 640 x 480 resolution in AVI format at 30 frames per second, with a microSD memory card slot that can hold up to 8GB of videos. The built-in lithium ion battery is able to last for half a dozen hours after being charged fully via USB. Your cover wont' be blown if someone asks you for a light though since it also works as a standard lighter, although the $150 price point might scare some people away.

Virgin Mobile Offers LG Flare In Pink

Virgin Mobile Offers LG Flare In Pink

Virgin Mobile jumps aboard the Valentine's Day bandwagon by offering a pink version of the clamshell LG Flare, and as usual, apart from the external difference in its paint job, everything else inside remains the same including Bluetooth connectivity and speakerphone function. The LG Flare is meant to be an extremely basic handset, so don't expect to do wonders with this apart from keeping in touch via SMS and phone calls. Of course, each purchase of this pink LG Flare from Virgin Mobile will see $5 being donated to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure foundation. Might as well surprise your mom or girlfriend this Valentine's Day if they have yet to own a phone and do a good deed at the same time! $29.99 is all Virgin Mobile is asking for.
