For this generation, at least. Everyone knew it was a matter of time since the Wii took off with phenomenal sales, and word has it the Wii has surpassed the Xbox 360 in terms of worldwide sales. Figures from Enterbrain in Japan, NPD in the US and GfK in Germany were used to bring the number of Wiis sold to more than nine million, making this Nintendo's huge home hit since its SNES days. 9 million is a whole lot, considering how the Xbox 360 has had a year's head start compared to the other two consoles. As for the Sony PS3, 3.7 million units have moved since its release most probably due to the prohibitively high price and lack of quality titles. Hopefully MGS4 and the next instalment of Final Fantasy will bolster sluggish PS3 sales for a more competitive console market this generation.
