Microsoft and Sprint have teamed up to bring the Live Search application that knows your current location, helping you pin down the nearest burger joint just in case you get a sudden case of the munchies in unfamiliar territory. It uses cell-tower triangulation to calculate a user's position, doing away with the need for GPS modules while bringing location-based mobile search to a wider array of handsets. From today onwards, all Live Search mobile searches on Sprint’s network will incorporate location information. Those who own the Samsung a900 and a920, the Motorola RAZR, the Sanyo 840, and the LG 550 will be able to simply speak their search terms into the phone's microphone, saving your keypad some furious finger tapping. Live Search - sounds good, no?
