Pioneer VSX Series Works With iPod

Pioneer VSX Series Works With iPod

A couple of new Pioneer receivers at CES 2009 now come with iPod compatibility, requiring Apple's standard USB data cable to do so. These VSX series receivers won't hit your wallet too hard, and have features that the man on the street needs/wants, including out-of-the-box compatibility with iPods. All you need to do is hook up your iPod or iPhone to the USB jack in front of the receiver and you're good to go, listening to your favorite tunes while checking out the album art. The receiver remote also offers full control of your iPod, but one feature that's missing which could hurt sales - no support for playing video off iPods except for the VSX-919 and VSX-1019AH, the two models on the high end segment of the budget-oriented VSX line. Depending on the model, you can expect to fork out anywhere from $400 to $500 when they arrive this April.
