Emtech Gdium Has Removable Drive

Emtech Gdium Has Removable Drive

Emtec Gdium netbook will be powered by Madriva's flavor of Linux, and what makes it different from other netbooks in the market is the ability to remove its 16GB USB thumbdrive, although we don't really see the whole point behind this apart from having a critical mass of Gdium users in the market where folks can share the shells, while carrying their data and programs with them. Other specifications are pretty much standard where netbooks are concerned, including :-

  • 512MB RAM

  • 10" display

  • Wi-Fi connectivity

  • VGA out

  • Built-in webcam

Tipping the scales at 2.5 pounds and saving you a bunch of dollar bills by running open source software such as Open Office, Mozilla's Firefox and Thunderbird, you will be able to pick up the Emtec Gdium for less than $400 in black, white or pink colors.
