A Japanese research group has successfully developed "visual image reconstruction" technology that is able to reconstruct figures viewed by a subject into images simply by measuring human brain activity. This is pretty scary, as you can imagine the practical applications of such technology. Polygraphs might actually be outdated then, as interrogation methods adopt this technology to view exactly what's stored in the mind of a person. According to initial research, it is possible to identify the correct image among more than 100 million candidates, while changes of the presented image can be played back in video format by utilizing the fMRI signal that is updated 30 times a minute. Don't need no Professor X powers anymore to read what's really in a person's mind, eh?
