Speed bumps have been a bane for many a rice rocket with modified skirtings, but this is a good (or bad) thing depending on which side you're on. After all, speed bumps are there to teach speedsters a lesson and not to go over the limit in densely populated areas. What about a smart speed bump that is able to be configured automatically to allow slower cars to go through without having to step on the brake (i.e. less than 30km/h), while anything faster than that will keep the speed bump active? We don't think that's such a good idea since it would defeat the whole idea of a speed bump in the first place, but others might argue that going at 30km/h is a safe speed to brake in an emergency. Best to not take any chances with lives, you know.
