10 Million doesn't sound like much, but Samsung is talking about phones with a digital camera that snaps 5 Megapixels (and more) photos. Seen like that, it's not bad at all!
However, when I see numbers like that, I have to ask: what's the usage like? Do people buy these phones because of the camera or do they buy it for something else and it happens to have a 5MP+ camera?
Right now, it doesn't matter how many Megapixels (MP) phones have - the lens is pretty crappy, so pictures tend to be bad, with some notable exceptions. it's a bit like Bluetooth (BT). By now, BT is practically everywhere, but yet, a large majority of phone owners don't use it on a daily basis because it's not all that great - it just happens to come with the phone.
Congrats to Samsung for their milestone - we're looking forward to seeing the 150 phones or so that they will build on 2009.
