It seems as though XM's XMp3 portable radio will soon hit the streets in the near future, thanks to a Popular Science issue that revealed the device in advance. This small portable radio will feature the special ability to capture five different channels while downloading a song from each channel simultaneously, speeding things up considerably compared to its predecessors. This feature would also mean the owner can listen to a live event without missing their favorite radio shows that are playing on other stations at the same time. Other specifications include a color display of unknown size and resolution, MP3 playback and a dock that turns it into a regular radio when the XMp3 is not being toted around. No idea on pricing or availability, although there are hints that this might make it through before the end of 2008.
