Verizon is working on increasing its upload speeds for regular users of its FIOS fiber optic Internet access to a whopping 20Mbps - while that number is blazing fast compared to DSL's 0.7Mbps, this is but a theoretical number, although real world performance would definitely outpace DSL upload speeds by a large margin. This new plan will fall under the top-tier in the scheme of things, and will be priced between $90 and $140 per month with an annual plan, depending on your speed and area. If your budget (and surfing habits) do not need such speeds, there is stil symmetric access that costs approximately $65 monthly at either 15Mbps or 20Mbps in both directions.
