Imagine your Blu-ray disc and the amount of HD video you can store on it - and then multiply that amount by 5 times. This is what the TeraDisc offers, storing up to 700GB on a single disc. This CD-sized media comes with two physical layers of plastic, but has a whopping 200 virtual layers on the one-sided disc that equates to approximately 250 hours of high definition content. The reason why there is a green/yellow hue on the TeraDisc is attributed to the molecules used to store data. A red laser that writes to the disc will focus on a specific point, which in turn causes a chemical reaction that changes the state of the fluorescent molecules. Reading the disc involves the laser looking for the presence or absence of fluorescence. Of course, you'll need a specific drive for the TeraDisc to work with, so make sure you have a free drive bay when it is released.
