The Huawei E800 portable phone has just cleared the hurdles set by the FCC, so it ought to make an appearance in the domestic market soon. Other than using it as a regular handset, you can also hop on the VoIP wagon with Skype thanks to its WiFi connectivity. Features include a 2.2" 65k color QVGA TFT LCD display at 240 x 320 resolution, 32MB of flash memory and 64MB SDRAM. Some of the supported protocols include SIP v2 and SDP, running on Windows CE. Heck, you can even communicate with your friends via MSN with the E800. IP TV/IP radio and web cam streaming, 3-way conferencing, caller ID, call hold/resume, and speed dial rounds off the list of features. There is no word on pricing as at press time.
