Amazon music store watermarked

Amazon music store watermarked

The Amazon music store might be DRM-free, but they still are watermarked. Amazon did not try to deny this fact, but instead played the blame game by shifting it onto labels that provide them with such tracks. Amazon issued a statement, saying "Amazon does not apply watermarks. Files are generally generally provided to us from the labels and some labels use watermarks to identify the retailer who sold the tracks (there is no information on the tracks that identifies the customer)." No major privacy issues to gripe about with here, but still it is frustrating to see that Big Brother is interested to know which audio track we've purchased online, especially from Amazon's store.
