Apparently, notebooks that use SSD as their main means of data storage seem to suffer from an unusually high failure rate. So far a major PC manufacturer has reported returns of 20% at best, up to 30% in all the SSD systems that are available for sale. Up to one fifth of these failures are due to the drive not working properly, although it remains to be seen whether this problem stems from the storage solution itself or if the controller chip is the culprit. While the drive manufacturer has not been named for obvious reasons, one can't help but place Samsung as the likely candidate since it is the most common SSD producer at press time. Are you grooving to a notebook that features SSD, and has it failed on you so far?
