NEC goes industrial with new LCD displays
NEC has released a couple of new 15" amorphous-silicon color TFT LCD modules that feature XGA resolution, targeting industrial equipment such as factory automation controllers, measuring instruments, ATM terminals, kiosks and POS systems. The first among the two is the NL10276BC30-32, featuring a brightness of 250cd/m2, while the NL10276BC30-33 has a slightly higher brightness of 350 cd/m2. Notable features include improved viewability with wide viewing angles, high contrast ratios (600:1) and a fast response time (18ms). Operating temperature has also been extended to -10 to +70 degrees Celsius, making them suitable for use in environments which are susceptible to high temperatures and various temperature changes. Pricing details have yet to be determined, but samples are already available this month.
