The Lenovo Ideapad S10e gets an 'instant-on' OS

The Lenovo S10, which is quite an interesting machine is going to have one more feature that might come in handy: super-fast boot time. Lenovo has decided to install Splashtop, the mini-linux pre-boot OS that ASUS has been using on a number of their products. With Splashtop, the S10e users can access basic functions such as Web Browsing or Skype faster than if they were booting into Windows. That's the first Netbook design-win for VMDevice, but I'm willing to bet that more will follow. [more info]
