Synthetic Tree Perspires As Well

Synthetic Tree Perspires As Well

Cornell University researchers managed to conjure the first synthetic tree in the world, but it ain't so much as an oak but leans more toward a tiny plant instead. It is currently rooted to a palm-sized piece of hydrogel, and this tree is said to "simulate the process of transpiration, the cohesive capillary action that allows trees to wick moisture upward to their highest branches." This proves that transpiration is a physical process instead of a biological one, and the application of this theory could result in "new passive heat transfer technologies for cars or buildings, better methods for remediating soil and more effective ways to draw water out of partially dry ground." I'm all for a greener earth folks, so hurry up already!
