Robotic Teddy Bear with GPS

Robotic Teddy Bear with GPS

While some of us place plush toys on the dashboard as a form of decoration in our vehicles, engineers from iXs Research Corporation have managed to cram in a GPS navigation unit into a robotic teddy bear, functioning as a talking car navigation system instead. This prototype plush robot measures approximately 1 foot tall and features half a dozen joints in both its arms and neck in order to make the relevant gestures when dispensing spoken directions. Interestingly enough, it also comes with an alcohol detection sensor embedded in its neck, confronting the driver when it picks up the scent of booze. Stroking the head will cause it to gush information on nearby landmarks as well. There is no word on when this will be manufactured on a large scale basis, but I will definitely line up for one when that fateful day comes.
