Water Regenerator from Segway Inventor

Water Regenerator from Segway Inventor

Dean Kamen is the inventor of the Segway and he has been working on something that is arguably much more useful: a water regenerator powered by cow dung. The dung generates energy and uses it to start a vapor condensation distillation process to generate up to 1000 liters of clean (distilled) water per day, per machine from any “wet” source (sewage, sea water, mud…). Dean’s point is that there’s a looming water shortage and according to him, 50% of human diseases could be averted by having clean water for all. I don’t know if his numbers are right or not, but it’s hard to argue that there’s no need for clean water.

The regenerators are expected to cost less then $2000, if mass-produced. The story isn’t breaking news, but this is the first time that i have seen a picture and a video of the machine. Video in the full post.
