The camera application on the iPhone is already pretty good for casual shooting purposes, but if you're a serious cell phone photographer (sounds pretty ironic, as you would most probably settle for a dedicated digital camera instead), then the Snapture solution ought to do the trick. Just make sure you have a jailbroken iPhone and you're good to go. Snapture is able to provide features such as adjustable digital zoom, greyscale, auto-rotation and burst mode. Heck, even the shutter sound can be silenced for you to capture images discreetly when people watching.
