Here're a couple of jellyfish robots from Festo - the AquaJelly and the AirJelly. The former is "an artificial autonomous jellyfish with an electric drive and an intelligent, adaptive mechanical system", while the latter is a remote-controlled device the zips through the air thanks to a helium-filled ballonet, a central electric drive and an intelligent, adaptive mechanical system. The whole idea of the AquaJelly is to have a community of similar robots working together autonomously by relying on their communication system while underwater. I wonder whether curious neighborhood kids will pick up their slingshots and have a go at an innocent, floating AirJelly robot.
