Hi-Fi specialist Arcam of the UK has just confirmed that it is developing a Blu-ray player, after waiting for months on end to see Blu-ray emerge truimphant over its bitter battle with HD DVD. Unfortunately, Arcam fans will have to wait until 2009 at the earliest in order to see the fruits of their labor. According to Arcam, this long wait is due to having to build their own technology from the player from ground up instead of just purchasing existing technology from a supplier and slapping their logo on it. Top marks for effort, but what happens if Blu-ray still doesn't pick up by then since most people are generally happy with regular DVDs? Strike the iron while it is hot, I say.
