Recently, there was news that the talks between China Mobile and Apple had stopped. It is unlikely that anyone thought that the deal was cancelled altogether, but that it was a “pause” because both parties could not reach an agreement.
Anyhow, Steve jobs confirmed that negotiations are still going on and that Apple is still interested. Apple surely is and Mobile China is also very interested, but it feels that it has the upper-hand in the negotiations. Unlike wireless carriers in the west who stomp each other to get Apple’s phone, I imagine that China mobile saying: “How badly do you want my 350M customers?”
