The Mobile NoteTaker device is pretty interesting - it transcribes whatever you write on paper onto its LCD display which can then be stored in the internal memory provided. You can choose to have it operate in two modes - Mobile or Connected. Mobile Mode will allow users to capture and store both notes and sketches in a digital format, while the latter mode synchronizes the Mobile NoteTaker with a computer via USB. This allows users to upload, organize, move, edit or add handwritten notes, ideas, sketches, phone numbers and even reminders. The Mobile NoteTaker retails for $170 a pop - sounds like a suitable gizmo for a student to have. Great at preserving doodles while you're on the phone, this.
