It looks like 2008 is going to be the year where laptops will come with 4GB of RAM by default. This is due to the continually falling price of semi-conductor (you love it when you shop, but hate it when you own).
Before paying extra bucks, one should be aware that current 32-bit Windows (XP, Vista) can’t take advantage of 4GB of physical memory in most cases. The other issue is that 64-bit Windows has crappy driver support.
