Western Digital has released its new 320GB Scorpio 2.5" SATA II drive, bringing a maximum burst speed of 300Mb/s, 8MB of cache and an estimated seek time of 12ms to the table. Not only that, it was designed to function elegantly without making any noise, producing up to 24dB when idle and a mere 26dB when seeking.Guess Samsung, Toshiba and Western Digital are now on par where 320GB notebook hard drives are concerned. The Scorpio retails for $199.99, but is currently "Out of Stock". Hopefully the holiday season will see production issued being resolved as 320GB is a whole lot of love if you're one who loves hoarding data, whether you need it in the future or not.
