Samsung scientists are currently working on a way to make LCD panels from ordinary glass plates, and it is hoped that this process will be able to reduce the costs of LCD displays for both notebooks and TVs by a sizeable margin when implemented. Guess the use of soda-lime glass - touted to be the most widely used form of glass in the market currently will see a wider adoption of LCD TVs and even larger sized monitors by the masses. To date, their 19" prototype has managed to yield a similar image quality as an LCD display made in the traditional method with 1,280 x 1,024 resolution.
