Smartphone ends up as Garmin navigator

Smartphone ends up as Garmin navigator

Garmin plans to add more brains into your smartphone with their new GPS software known as Garmin Mobile XT. This software is pre-loaded in a microSD card and endows a handset with access to a bunch of location-based services such as maps, driving directions, real-time traffic and weather information, local gas prices and friend-finding tools. This card retails for $99, which is by far the better choice compared to the average Garmin GPS device that retails between $200 to $1,000. Mobile XT boasts maps of the US, Canada and Puerto Rico or Europe, and allows you to broadcast your location to other phones or even check out the exact whereabout of other Garmin Mobile XT users. Map data is provided by Navteq. Will you add in GPS capability into your present smartphone if supported?
