Sharp has paraded the multi-touch LCD scanner that works very differently from how an ordinary scanner does. The touchscreen is extremely sensitive, where every single pixel on the LCD will optically scan where you're pressing, making it capable of tracking multiple points of contact simultaneously, resulting in a more responsive and sturdy interface. Not only that, it makes the LCD capable of scanning items like a business card. When will such technology trickle down to present day smartphones and PMPs?
