Qantas Airways aims to release preliminary results of its in-flight phone trial before the year is over, and it is hoped that cellphones won't interfere with in-flight signalling equipment. After all, high powered businessmen as well as those who just want to keep in touch with loved ones on a long journey would love to have the capability of making affordable calls instead of relying on in-flight phones that charge a bomb. Currently, Qantas passengers can communicate via available telephones located in their seats, but hopefully this cheaper option will be made available soon.
