New York City isn't the criminal infested city it used to be, but road rage and altogether aggressive driving is still a major problem in The Big Apple. The NYPD is currently testing out a new camera system that can read license plate numbers and then transmit the information to search for a match (London has been using something similar for a long time). This could also work wonders with car theft. The first camera post lies a few blocks away from Ground Zero and shows that NYC is serious about getting a high-tech law enforcement ring in the works.
