E-paper products aren't exactly new in the market, but it is good to see improvements being introduced with time. Alps Electric has developed a front-lit e-paper that will be a favorite with those who love catching up on their reading at night. It won't displace books or newspapers anytime soon though, but I'm sure there will be other practical applications where it can be put to good use. In addition, Alps Electric also developed a larger e-paper model that measures 9.7" and has a flexible TFT substrate which makes it somewhat bendable. A resolution of 1,200 x 820 is commendable as you will be able to see more on the display at any one time.
