Microsoft head honcho Bill Gates unveiled the new Zune portable media players, software, and online store as well as the new Zune Social beta online community Web site. The new Zune Pad appears on these refreshed Zunes, boasting an innovative touch-sensitive button for navigating on the device, as well as wireless sync, Windows Media Center TV on the go, and new codec support. It is also interesting to note that Microsoft has not forgotten about their 1G Zune owners, making available all the new Zune's features on the old one as well without having to fork out a cent. Apple could take a leaf out of Microsoft's book by seeing how this software company takes care of its customers. All the original Zune accessories will also work just fine with the new Zunes, whether they are flash-based or not.
