Garmin brings GPS to Palm handsets

Garmin brings GPS to Palm handsets Garmin has brought GPS connectivity to both Palm Treo and Centro smartphones, where the Palm GPS Navigator comes with a GPS receiver that hooks up to the phone while relaying with Garmin's Mobile XT software on an SD card. The SD card holds a database of millions of points of interest with maps covering the US, Canada, and Puerto Rico. Not only that, you also get voice-activated turn-by-turn directions that make it easy concentrate on the road without taking your eyes off it. In addition, you will be able to download online updates that include relevant data such as local gas prices and weather forecasts. The entire package will retail for $250 when it goes on sale later in November.
