USDA endorses microchips in pets

USDA endorses microchips in pets
The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has just endorsed the use of microchips to identify American pets, helping families reunite with their lost and displaced pets. This will certainly come in handy especially after a natural disaster such as a hurricane which tends to make your pet take off before you even know what's coming. Apparently, they will push for the use of 125 kHz chips as that is what 98% of American pets are now microchipped with. An overhaul of the system would just be a waste of taxpayers' money, not to mention having your pet go through the trauma of having yet another microchip inserted. Hopefully this move won't extend to humans in the near future. | | |
