The ClearChat Pro is presented by Logitech as being a “high-quality” headset for your multimedia activities on the computer. Audiophiles will probably find that the term “high-quality” is overstated here, but Skype is certainly not going to push the envelope on sound quality anyway. The device has easy-to-access volume and mute controls and the (background) noise-cancelling microphone should help keep conversations clear. Overall, the design is good and small details like the “mute” light indicator, or the one-click equalizer makes this headset stand out a little in an extremely commoditized sector. $49.99
At $39.99 MSRP, the ClearChat comfort it is just a little cheaper than the “ClearChat Pro”, and has pretty much the same rotating, noise-cancelling microphone, but apparently the sound quality won’t be as good: Logitech says that it has “laser-tuned speaker drivers” on the “Pro”, whatever that means…
