Samsung does not want to be left behind in the touchscreen smartphone race, releasing the M4650 "Multi-touch Phone" via LG Telecom in Korea. This full Internet-browsing handset aims to draw first blood before Apple's iconic iPhone lands in Korea. The M4650 will feature a 2.8" LCD touchscreen display that doubles up as a keypad, requiring a stylus (or an extremely thin finger) to navigate, supports terrestrial DMB TV broadcasting, and has a hidden screen vibrator that provides a gentle shake whenever the screen is touched for selected key input. Unfortunately, the 2.8" display cannot recognize multiple touches like the iPhone, but knowing Samsung, their user interface shouldn't be too shabby to begin with. The Samsung M4650 will retail for $551 initially.
