Canon LV-7365 projector

Canon has released the LV-7365 projector that boasts some pretty interesting capabilities - it can project a 100" image from a distance of 9.2 feet, and comes with a 1.6x zoom lens that has been multicoated to reduce reflections, flare and ghosting. Brightness levels have been rated at 3,000 ANSI lumens while its contrast ratio is 500 to 1, making it more than suitable for indoor use. Unfortunately, the Canon LV-7365 has a native resolution of just 1,024 x 768. Connectivity options include DVI-I, RCA, D-sub 15, and stereo mini-jack ports. If you're hankering after a mid-range projector, the Canon LV-7365 will be released in the middle of November for $1,499 a pop.

Yahoo IM gets new media features

Yahoo will be introducing new media-playing features, large file transfer capability and additional languages to its instant messaging service, and that's just the tip of the iceberg. This is a strategic move that is a long time in coming since its rivals are also attempting to boost their positions by tweaking their instant messaging services. Yahoo Messenger 9.0 (already?) has just launched a test version, boasting features as found on social networks and media sharing sites in addition to extra space for you to post an image next to contact names along with the ability to share video or photos within a conversation window itself. Half a dozen new languages have been added, catering to the citizens of Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, India and Vietnam, thus expanding its appeal to a grand total of 25 international markets. Looks like the push for media sharing is here to stay.

Nintendo DS Lite gets gold treatment

I guess with oil prices defying gravity all the time and the once almighty dollar plumbing to new depths every day, it makes sense that people rush to gold as a traditional safe haven. To coat just about anything in gold is pure madness, but that hasn't stopped this Nintendo DS Lite to come with 24k karat gold highlights courtesy of the SGP Metal kit for the DS Lite. Each SGP Metal kit consists of a full set of self-adhesive gold-plated trim, and if gold's not your thang, there is always a silver finish.

Google talks to Verizon Wireless

Google and Verizon Wireless are currently discussing the possibility of introducing handsets to the market via the latter which run on Google's very own operating system software and applications, and a formal announcement concerning Google's mobile plans is expected to be made within a couple of weeks' time. These Google-powered handsets will definitely prove to be a worthy competitor to the iPhone that is currently being offered by AT&T. What do you think of this situation? Would a cellphone running on Google's OS make your life complete? All I know is, searching for your contacts and text messages would be easier when the time comes - I just don't know how much so.
