BlackBerry Pearl Flip Going For Free

BlackBerry Pearl Flip Going For Free

If you're hankering after the recently released BlackBerry Pearl Flip but lack the monetary funds to pick one up, fret not. Best Buy will be offering the Pearl 8220 for free, and it is a no-brainer to assume that this fantabulous offer comes attached with a new contract. Well, would that move you to acquire this phone, or are you still holding out for something more. After all, we humans tend to have the mentality that something which is free can't be that good, and so the same applies to cell phones as well.

LED Screwdriver Light

LED Screwdriver Light

There are times when we need to screw something in tight, dark corners, and it isn't too nifty biting the tip of a flashlight while working on your project since your teeth aren't exactly the best placeholders in the world. Well, the LED Screwdriver Light now retails for $8.95 a pop, and like its namesake, allows you to see whether you're screwing in the right stuff at the right place no matter how dark the surroundings are. A trio of LEDs will do the work for you, and it comes with embedded magnets that allow you to attach it to generally any ferrous surface for work illumination. Powered by button-cell batteries, the LED Screwdriver Light is turned on/off simply be rotating the yellow ring.

Gesture-controlled Light Switch Concept

Gesture-controlled Light Switch Concept

Apple must be commended for pushing multi-touch technology so that it can take off in a very big way, and perhaps through this exercise of proliferation, future devices like this gesture-controlled light switch can be created for homes worldwide. This light switch will parse multi-touch gestures into various actions, including lighting up a roomful of lights in unison or individually. The lights will be mapped onto the touchpad beforehand according to how they're position, while a simple sliding motion toward or away from a specific light would brighten or dim it individually. A circular gesture will allow you to control all the bulbs simulaneously. Anyone else would like to see this concept enter the realm of reality?

Nikon D3x Specifications

Nikon D3x Specifications

Nikon Pro has obtained the official specifications of the Nikon D3x (from this blog):

  • 24.5MP sensor

  • 5fps of continuous shooting at full resolution

  • ISO 100-1600, extended to 50-6400

  • 16-bit colors EXPEED processor

  • (Body design and other functions similar to the Nikon D3)

  • more details here

There's no video-capture capability and photographers like Seb Rogers think that it's pretty late in the game, but I'm sure that Nikon fan will point out to many positive points. I don't know for other people, but I'm just an amateur with a taste for DSLRs and these days, the only thing that I want from my next camera is much better low-light shooting capability. What about you?
